WHO WE ARE
Based in Los Angeles, Japanese Wine Co. is a Dream of Japan brand that brings exceptional Japanese wines to the U.S.—crafted with meticulous care and a level of quality still rarely found outside Japan.
We work with dedicated wineries across Japan, as well as select U.S. partners rooted in Japanese culture.
Shaped by diverse climates, soils, and seasons, these wines are elegant, balanced, and food-friendly. Guided by precise winemaking and a deep respect for craftsmanship, they pair beautifully with cuisine—especially Japanese food—and offer a refined, modern expression of Japan in every glass.
OUR STORY
The Table in France
Long time ago, I was living in the UK when a French friend invited me to their home.
I still remember the drive—leaving England behind, crossing into France, and arriving at a table filled with the kind of food that only exists in real homes: honest, generous, beautifully simple.
That night, we opened a bottle of Bordeaux red.
One sip—and something shifted.
The wine wasn’t just delicious.
It was alive. It carried the grace of the region, the warmth of the meal, and the quiet magic that happens when food and wine truly belong together.
That was the moment I fell in love with wine—not as a luxury, but as a language. A way to connect place, people, and memory.
A Glass of Oregon
Years later, I moved to Portland, Oregon, where wine became part of everyday joy. Weekends meant winding roads, vineyard visits, and discoveries that felt like little secrets.
I fell deeply for Oregon Pinot Noir—elegant, nuanced, and expressive, as if the landscape itself had been poured into a glass.
Of course, I kept driving.
Down to Napa and Sonoma for the bold confidence of California Cabernet Sauvignon.
And on warm days, a crisp Pinot Gris—bright, refreshing, effortless.
Portland also taught me another lesson: great wine is at its best when it’s shared alongside good food.
Surrounded by farm-fresh ingredients and thoughtful restaurants, I found myself constantly chasing that perfect pairing—the kind that makes you pause, smile, and take another bite, another sip.
A New Beginning in Los Angeles
Now, in Los Angeles, a city where cultures meet at the table, I felt a new calling.
Through Dream of Japan, we have always shared Japan’s finest—crafted with care, rooted in tradition, and made to be enjoyed in daily life.
And as our next chapter, we are bringing something still surprisingly unknown to many Americans: Japanese wine.
Because Japanese wine has its own quiet brilliance—shaped by unique terroir, careful craftsmanship, and a deep respect for balance. And when paired with Japanese food, it creates a kind of harmony that feels both natural and unforgettable.
That is why we created Japanese Wine Co.
